Description

At the headwaters to the Little Sugar Creek lies bands of Limestone that brim the hillsides. Placer Ridge being the most quality rock in the area, with problems from Vb-v8+. The most unique area within Critzer would be Shroomies Boulder Field, where large free standing limestone shrooms line the ridge. Others areas within Critzer are being established currently so look for more updates soon. If it says Private Property, please respect the boundaries and don’t let temptation get the best of you.

Getting There

From parking lot, hike to the west side of parking about ten yards off of lake, identify trail. Follow the trail for roughly 1/4 mile skirting the south side of lake until reaching a T, bear right and follow the well maintained trail. The first right(requires log creek crossing) will lead you to Placers Ridge.
Placer Ridge Approach- after taking the first right after the T, you will come to the creek bank. Turn right and follow the pink ribbons which will lead you to a fell tree crossing. Once on the other bank follow the pink ribbons to destination. Approximately 1/2 mi from parking.
Shroomies Boulderfield Approach- stay on well maintained trailed after turning right at the T, follow until it reaches the creek bank. Low water crossing is a must here, most of the time stepping stones are available to keep feet dry. After the creek you will come to a Y in the path, bear right and follow up the hill. Once atop the hill, identify 2 pink ribbon markers on the left and follow paths to the crag via pink ribbons.
Approximately 1/2 mile from parking.
