Description

This is the SE side of Thatchtop Mt. which has ice climbs approached from Mills' Lake. There are a variety of bits of ice here, the longest and perhaps best known is likely All Mixed Up.

Its relatively shorter approach invites one to saunter up to these climbs. However, the early, postholing climber after a big snow dump may fight shorter daylight hours.

Getting There

Park at the Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Hike up the winter shortcut, just after the 2nd bridge going to the split for Loch Vale and Mills' Lake. Head left towards Mills' Lake. Wander up and left from Mills' Lake.
