Access Issue: (1/1/22) Rocky Gorge Reservoir is currently closed to climbing.

hillside along the Patuxent River with a number of good quality boulder problems.  Home to the amazing Wishing Boulder, one of the best roofs in the area. However, the area is often prone to seepage long after it has rained.

I just thought I would put the area on up on Mountain Project for those climbers who use Mountain Project more frequently.

Getting There

Park in the lot opposite of the boat ramp. On the side of the road where the boat ramp is, there will be a trail that heads off into the woods. Please stay on the trail; there is no need to leave the trail as all of the boulders are located along it. After about a 8-10 minute walk, the first prominent boulder you will see is a large, blank roof. Past this roof there are a few other small overhangs, a tall, chossy, face, and finally one last roof located slightly up a hill. The last roof is about a 15-20 minute walk from the lot. Recently a few fallen trees have blocked the trail in two locations.
