Description

The Rockcastle River hosts an enormous (mostly) untapped potential for new routes. The area described herein is part of the southernmost portion of the river, which is designated as a "state wild river area". The rock is very reminiscent of that found in the Red River Gorge, but of more varied quality.

Getting There

Being off the Rockcastle river, exploration via boat is ideal. Rapids up to class IV make this an adventure in itself. Otherwise, a network of RV trails and maintained forest trails can be utilized. Get a topo and sort it out for yourself.
