Description
Parker Bluff is a steep slab of granite, some 300 feet high about two miles northwest of Johnsondale. There are over 20 established routes at Parker Bluff with a wide range of difficulty and types. The ultra thin slab climbing here is this area's main draw.
Getting There
Drive the Highway-99 north of Johnsondale, which turns left and becomes M-50, California Hot Springs Road. Continue from the turn for one mile and turn right on a short dirt road just before M-50 passes beneath the obvious face of Parker Bluff. Park near the end of the road or where possible. A trail starts from the end of the road and steeply climbs up to the right of the rock (expect 30 minutes). When almost level with the base, the trail traverses left to reach the climbs.
