Mattatuck State Forest is spread across several towns: Harwinton, Litchfield, Plymouth, Thomaston, Waterbury, & Watertown. The forest has a nice variety of topography & wildlife that can be enjoyed by the Mattatuck & Jericho (blue) hiking trails. For further history and information please visit:

Getting There
About nine miles north of the mixmaster in Waterbury off of route 8, it is a large forest so depending on your destination determines on where you want to park. Parking locations at Black Rock state park, Echo Lake Rd, & Park Rd are identified on the DEEP State forest map:
