Description

There are more the 200+ boulders here with over a hundred probably from V0 to V5 with thousand more possibilities. The boulders range in height from 5' to 50'. There is one boulder that has a two bolts on top and can be toproped on all sides. The routes range from 5.7 to 5.11 in difficulty.

Getting There

From Maybell, CO, take CO Highway 318. Drive 9 miles, take a left on to Moffat County Road 10, drive 6.7 miles, and take a left on to a 4 wheel drive road. Park here, and walk or drive 1.3 miles to the end of the road. From there, the first boulders are about 500 yards up the hill.

Per Paxton Jones: from Maybell, CO, take CO Highway 318. Drive 9 miles, take a left on to Moffat County Road 10, drive 6.9 miles, and take a left at the Cross Mountain Study Area sign which is a 4 wheel drive road that isn't rough but requires typical clearance found on trucks and SUVs. Drive 1.3 miles to the end of the road...keep in mind the road splits at the very end, but the left fork cruises up a smooth field stopping at the base of the hillside. I suggest you park there. From there, the first boulders are about 500 yards up the hill and slightly to the right. Avoid hiking through the draw which is choked with cactus.
